bubba case
consultation, lameness evaluation & therapeutic shoeing
4/10/07

This is a 16 year old Thoroughbred that has been Foundered for sometime. Proper Radiographs were taken by
Dr. McNeil using Dr. Esco Buff's Radiograph Techniques. The Horse than Diagnosed with Chronic Type 2 Founder. I Trimmed and
Shod Bubba with a Rigid Heart Bar Shoe in accordance with the Radiograph Measurements that I had taken. The Measurements from
the Radiographs allowed me to use the Founder Data Collection Analysis Form (FDCAA) to determine the Length
of Dorsal Wall, Magnification Correction, Wall Thickness, Palmar Cortex of the Distal Phalanx Length, Founder Distance,
Angle of Distal Phalanx Rotation, Proper Frog Plate Placement, and Proper Shoe Toe Placement.

Note the Stacking of the Heels and the Dish in the Dorsal Hoof Wall. The Sole has a noticable bump in front
of the Frog. The Sole and Frog are dead and lacking Blood Supply.

Bubba Trimmed and Shod. I applied Rigid Heart Bar Shoes with an Equithan Frog Plate Build Up to get
the right amount of Equal Pressure on the Frog to Stabilize the Realigned Coffin Bone. Follow-Up in 4 Weeks.
